One of the most famous customs during this festival is the dragon boat races. People gather at rivers or lakes and cheer for their favorite teams as they compete in colorful dragon boats. Another important tradition is eating Zongzi, a rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves. These dumplings are typically filled with ingredients such as sticky rice, meat, or sweet bean paste. It is believed that eating Zongzi helps to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck.

The origins of the Duanwu Festival can be traced back to over 2,000 years ago. To prevent fish from eating his body, people threw food into the river and beat drums to scare away the fish.
